Teen Art & Animation: Storytelling & Production

Even though technology has changed in how we animate, in any animated production the story is key. In this course we will have students really develop a story and take them through the process of story boarding, pitching their idea, using a critique to make changes to their story and to finally develop and animate their projects. Students will work individually and in groups to fully develop their stories.

Teen Physics of Flight – Spring Academy

Even before Leonardo Da Vinci began the first real studies of flight in the 1480’s, the Chinese started exploring flight several hundred years BC using kites. The ongoing fascination with flying has inspired the development of amazing flying machines including balloons, gliders, airplanes, helicopters, and rockets. The focus of this course is about the science and engineering behind man-made flight, including an emphasis on understanding the importance of forces and Newton’s laws of motion. Students are then challenged to use a variety of materials to design and construct a variety of flying machines. To give students an appreciation of the successes and failures of aviation pioneers, historical information will also be presented throughout the course.

Teen: Anatomy and STEM

What would you do without one of your hands? Could you imagine how you could function without one?  In this class, we are going to fully analyze the anatomy of the hand. We will draw the hand, learn all of the bones, talk about the muscles and understand how it all functions together. Then we will reconstruct the hand piece by piece with electronics and give it movement with some code. If we have time, we will move onto other parts of the body!

In this class students will learn:
Anatomy of the hand and other body parts
Electronic Configuration to re-create the human hand
We supply the coding logic, students can explore and change it if they desire
