Home / Academic Programs / WANIC Summer Programs / WANIC Intro to Art & Animation: Drawing Humans & Animals
This course is designed exclusively for students who are just beginning to explore drawing, this course is the ideal starting point for those fascinated by character design or simply wanting to learn to draw with more confidence and structure for the first time.
Using traditional media and the principles of constructive anatomy, students learn to draw the human figure and animals with structure and purpose. Topics include foundational drawing techniques, figure and portrait drawing, animal studies, and designing original characters and creatures from the inside out. The focus is on observation, form, and creative expression rather than software — building skills that translate directly into animation, illustration, and character design.
