About Online Workshops
Learn about video game programming, art and animation, and game design from home with online courses held in a variety of formats throughout the year. These courses combine rigorous curriculum with hands-on projects to give students valuable experience in video game programming and game art production.
ProjectFUN’s Online Workshops mirror many of the same topics covered at onsite Summer Workshops, but are engineered specifically to serve students learning remotely. Students who complete an online course that serves as a prerequisite for another course can take the next course in the series either online or on-site.
Each Online Workshop is a hybrid class that combines offline independent study with 30 hours of online classroom sessions conducted via Zoom.us, where students interact with their instructor and classmates. Students have access to reference material, schedules, and assignment postings through an interactive distance-learning website.
Students must have access to a PC or Mac computer as well as additional hardware and software that meet the technology requirements listed below. Some programs or courses may indicate additional technology requirements, and not all programs are Mac compatible. See individual course descriptions for more information.

Summer Online Workshops
Summer Online Workshops run in two-week sessions, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Summer sessions offer the widest variety of our most popular workshops in a distance learning format, so students can explore and learn video game development, programming, and animation from home.
Fall/Spring Online Workshops
Online programs during the school year run over the course of ten Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time. These sessions are a great opportunity to get a prerequisite filled before Summer Workshops, or just continue your learning all year long!
